Helm is built around one principle: your household manager should know your home as well as you do. Here's how we get there, and what working with Helm actually looks like.
Every engagement starts with a conversation. We want to understand your home, your current situation, and what's not working. We'll ask about your home, what's currently working, what isn't, and how decisions get made.
If Helm is the right fit, we'll recommend a plan and walk you through what onboarding looks like. If it isn't, we'll say so. The consultation is complimentary and takes 30 minutes, by phone or in person.
Before management begins, your Helm manager conducts a full audit of your property. Every system, every vendor relationship, every appliance, every warranty, every preference; documented and organized into your home manual.
The home manual is yours. It's the single source of truth for everything about your home, and it's how your manager arrives at month one already knowing your property the way you do.
The difference between a household that runs itself and one that still lands on you is clear decision-making authority. Before management begins, we establish three things:
Once these are established, your Helm manager is the primary point of contact for your household. You receive regular updates and a monthly household summary covering what was completed, what's coming up, and any decisions or projects you'd like to add to the agenda. It's your standing channel to weigh in without having to initiate a separate conversation. Everything else is handled.
From month one, Helm owns the day-to-day. Maintenance happens before it becomes a problem. Projects move forward. Decisions within your agreed threshold are made and executed without it landing on you.
We review scope together every quarter. Your household needs evolve: a renovation starts, a staff member changes, your situation shifts. The quarterly review is where we adjust, so the engagement always reflects what your household actually needs. Your home manual evolves with it; staying current as your property, your team, and your preferences change.
Household management is built on access and discretion. Your Helm manager works inside your home and on your behalf with the people and service providers who keep it running. That access comes with serious responsibility, and we treat it that way.
The consultation is the right place to start. We'll talk through your household, answer any questions you have, and be straightforward about whether Helm makes sense for your situation.
